Smart Booking Assist: let your availability answer booking requests

Every musician knows the feeling: a booking request comes in while you're on stage, in the studio or asleep, and by the time you reply the client has already booked someone else.

Smart Booking Assist is Mucanto's answer to that. It uses your availability to respond to booking requests for you, so clients get an answer fast and you don't lose work because you were busy.

Two ways to handle requests

You decide how much control you want.

Automatic

With automatic mode on, Mucanto checks each new booking request against your availability:

• You're free on that date: the booking is accepted automatically.
• You're already booked or unavailable: the request is declined, so the client can move on and book someone else.

The client pays when they book, so an accepted booking is a confirmed booking.

Manual

If you prefer to look at every request yourself, keep manual mode. You'll have 24 hours to accept or decline. During that time the client's payment is authorised but not yet taken. If you accept, the booking is confirmed; if you decline, or don't answer in time, the hold is released.

Keep your availability up to date

Smart Booking Assist is only as good as your calendar. A few habits make it work well:

• Block dates as soon as you know them. Private gigs, rehearsals, holidays: if you can't play, mark it.
• Check your areas. You only receive requests for events in the areas you've chosen, so keep that list accurate.
• Review your services and prices per area. When automatic mode accepts a booking, it's at the prices you've set, so make sure they still work for you, including travel cost.

Which mode should you use?

Automatic suits musicians who play often and keep their calendar current. It's the fastest way to turn requests into bookings.

Manual suits musicians who want to check every event first: the venue, the type of event, or how it fits with other plans.

You can switch between the two at any time from your account.
