How to set up a Mucanto gig profile that gets booked
A step-by-step guide for DJs, bands and solo artists: roles, areas, services, prices, media and the checks you need before your profile goes live.

Your gig profile is your shop window on Mucanto. It's what clients see when they look for live music for their event, and it decides whether they book you or the next musician on the list.
Here's how to set it up properly, step by step.
1. Choose your gig name and roles
Start with the name clients know you by. Then pick your role: DJ, Band or Solo Artist. You can choose more than one if it's true, for example a singer who also plays DJ sets.
If you perform as different acts, you can create more than one gig profile under the same account.
2. Add the areas where you want to play
This is the most important step. On Mucanto, clients search by the place where their event happens, and they only see musicians who are active in that area.
Add every area you're genuinely willing to travel to. There is no limit.
For each area, set a travel cost so longer trips are covered.
More areas means more people can find you. Just don't add places you wouldn't actually go to.
3. Set your services and prices
Clients book services, not just "a musician". Add everything you offer, for example a DJ set, a live band performance, sound and lighting, special effects, or MC and hosting.
You can set your own price for every service in every area. That way you can charge more where travel or demand is higher, and stay competitive where you want to grow.
Tips for pricing:
Be clear about what each service includes (duration, equipment, number of performers).
Keep prices realistic for the area. Clients compare.
Remember the travel cost you set per area is added for the client.
4. Show what you sound like
Clients want to hear you before they book. You can:
Connect your SoundCloud account and add your tracks.
Add YouTube videos with public links: live performances work best.
A short live clip from a real event often convinces people more than a polished studio track.
5. Write a short, specific description
Say who you are, what kind of events you play, the genres you cover and what makes your performance different. Keep it short and concrete; "Wedding and party DJ playing house, pop and Greek hits, 300+ events" says more than a long list of adjectives.
6. Complete billing information and payout verification
Before your profile can go live, two things are needed on your account:
Billing information: so Mucanto can issue invoices for its service fees.
Payout verification (KYC): a quick identity check done through Stripe, so you can receive payments safely.
Billing information comes first; payout verification becomes available after that. You only do this once per account, even if you have several gig profiles.
This is the step most musicians forget. A profile without billing information and payout verification can't be published, so clients will never see it.
7. Approval and going live
Once everything is complete, the Mucanto team reviews your profile. After approval, it goes live and clients in your areas can start booking you.
